A Sale from 2nd in Line!!

Time for a commercial break from your regularly scheduled post about books you're reading, or things you're doing this summer, or how you're getting your room ready for Fall 2015.
I am Patty from 2nd in Line.

And I'm here for Jennifer today.
She is a busy busy girl and some of us
were paid  volunteered to help her out!

If you don't know me, let me give you the
condensed version of my biography.

I taught 2nd grade for 36 years and for what ever reason. . .  then I retired. But as many of you who are reading this, I am passionate about teaching. I couldn't just quit. I love working with kids and making a difference in their lives. I love helping them understand new things. SOOOOOO. . . . the PERFECT job opened up for me.

I am now working as an interventionist in a teeny tiny room no bigger than your bathroom. . . SERIOUSLY! I work with one or two students at a time for 30 minutes. I only work until noon. That's it!

No meetings.
No conferences (unless I want to).
No report cards.
No grading papers.
And only minimal lesson planning.

Isn't that what we all went to college for? But alas, all those things that I'm not doing now, I have done plenty of before and they do have a purpose. . . really . . . they do!

I love my family of teachers.

I am married to a teacher. My two kids are teachers. Their spouses are teachers. My sister was  a teacher but is now retired.
My brother in law was a principal but is now retired. So I guess teaching is what I know.

Now I have 3 grandchildren that fill me up with giggles, snuggles, and love all the time!

My blog is about 3 years old. I've been selling on TPT for almost 3 years also. I do love to create things for my class, so I thought I might as well see if someone else would also like my things. That is why TPT works for me. It's not really any extra time than what I would normally put into what I make.

I'd like to offer you a special today, just for taking the time to read this. I am putting 3 of my products on sale for $1.00 each just for one week.

I hope you have a great start to your school year and that you will come back and visit Miss Jennifer often to see what else she is up to.

It has been my pleasure to be here today. Thanks for listening and have a great year!

Patty

Must Haves for Back to School

open house

Well...my summer is coming to an end.  I go back to school bright and early on Thursday.  I am NOT ready.  I feel like I am behind already and we haven't even officially gone on the time clock!  The thing I am going to miss most is my leisurely time spent reading my emails.....if you are a teacher that loves 'stuff', your emails are full of eye candy and things that can go on your wish list!  I get a lot of inspiration from my emails.

So here are the things I rely on every year!!

I start off using this packet below every year during the first nine weeks of school..I just took the time this summer to 'freshen' it up and and make it pretty so that I could share it with you.  It is definitely colorful and it is packed with information to help meet Common Core Standards L.2.1L.2.2, L.3.1, and L.3.2.

Just click here to go check the packet out!

Laminating pouches are a must have also!  I use the 3 mil <which is like your regular laminating film> if it is something I'm probably not going to reuse.  However, if it is something I want to reuse over and over or reuse next year, a lot of times I will use the 5 mil laminating sheets which will not fold, bend, or crease! These are in my Amazon cart right now!  If you don't have your own laminator, now is a great time to get one!  I have had a laminator just like this Scotch brand for about 3 years now and it is still working great!  Err...just don't forget to turn it off!  It will burn up.  True story.  Enough said!

I hope that this post helps you with your wish list!  I know it did with mine!

Assess Me Linky: Week 2

I am linking up with my friend, Rachel, this week!!

I am a necklace person....in fact, I always wear a little owl necklace that Amanda Madden got me when my mother passed away at Thanksgiving....she said that it would represent our owl friendship (we are both on the Owl-Ways Inspired Blog) and all of the wisdom my mom had imparted to me.  The only time I have taken it off is when I had surgery.  Thanks, Amanda.....much love to you!

I would much rather shop on-line than go out shopping...but it can get me into big trouble!

I marked tea as my drink....but I am a recovering Diet Coke-a-holic.  I am on day 27 without diet coke.  I'd rather drink water though!

I am a definite night owl which gets me into trouble when school is in session.

I NEED central air!!!

You all take care and stay sweet!
Jenn
